So I've had a bit of a set back this weekend. It was the annual Azalea Festival this weekend and I cheated a little and allowed myself to have a funnel cake and a lemonade shake up. They were both SUPER yummy, but I regretted it afterwards. I felt so guilty until my wonderfully awesome friend reminded me that we were working it off because it was stupid hot outside (for May) and we were walking a lot. So then I felt a little better. Not to mention that we had a great time. We walked the crafts (which was so tempting not to buy it all) and let the kids ride the carnival rides. They had a blast and so did we, heat and all.
Of course that wasn't my only set back though because on top of that I have ate out with the hubby two times this weekend, skipped out on two of our daily walks (because time did not allow but still) and allowed myself to have a doughnut for breakfast this morning. I'm not sure that I've lost any weight and to be honest I'm a little afraid for Mondays weigh-in (which I am planning a video for). I think from now on I may restrict myself on my food limitations even more. Which means...Time to hit the South Beach Diet book again. I feel so motivated and hopeful this time that I just don't want to fail. I want to be, if not to my goal, at least half way to my goal by October of this year. So prayers and fingers crossed.
A little side note..
I just want to say that I really couldn't have done this without my friend. Although she is a new friend to me we are quickly becoming pretty close and whether she knows it or not she has helped me to gain back some of my confidence and self esteem. Along with my hubby. So thank you to them both for their help and support!

It's been 6 days since I started my New Routine and I feel great! I have so much more energy, motivation, and HOPE! That's right, hope. I feel like this time I'm going to see results, fast, slow, whatever, I'm going to see some results.
Everything starts with my eating. As you may have noticed from my food journal my eating habits still need some work. The important thing is that I'm making an effort, watching my portion sizes, trying to make conscious decisions, eating less snacks and NO MORE SODA!
Next comes my exercise. I have walked at least 1 mile for 3 of the last 5 days. Life got in our way a little Thursday and Friday but we still have every intentions to keep it up. We are even talking about creating a goal of running a 5K this time next year. How awesome would that be?!
So stick with me because I see myself going places!!! And Remember that Monday is weigh in day...
Have a great weekend.

Every Monday is going to be weigh in day. Yippy! <--- Sense the scarasm? It's the worst part of the whole blog, but if I'm going to be completely honest with my readers and more importantly with myself then I need to post this. So stay tuned for my first weigh in. It will be sometime today.

Exercising is so much easier with a friend.
A good friend and I have decided to start a walking routine. We are going to walk mid morning everyday around a local park. I'm not sure exactly the mileage yet, I'll add that later.
I'm hoping that this routine is going to help me in other ways as well. My motivation level goes up more when I get out and go to town early. I have more energy and motivation for the rest of the day. I'm also going to make myself clean the house prior to leaving for our walk so that I can come home to a fresh clean house and have nothing but free time after our walk. To take my kiddo to the river, the park, shopping, whatever we feel like doing. Hopefully this will help me since I'm not always the best at keeping my house picked up. (There really is nothing worse then getting unannounced company and not having your house picked up.
So beyond that, I'm thinking that I may need to add some more exercise outside of walking into my routine. I have a work out video that I may break out that includes some Cardio, Yoga, and Pilates. I know that walking itself is going to help tremendously, especially doing it everyday, but I want to make sure that I give myself the best opportunities as possible to get back to a healthy me.
On top of this, I'm going to be starting the South Beach Diet again. Of all the diets I've ever tried this one has given me the most results (about 15 lbs lost). On top of that, I have been doing research and it seems that other PCOS sufferers have also benefited from the South Beach Diet. The concept of low carb is not only a "heart healthy" diet, it benefits PCOS sufferers because low-carb diets lower circulating insulin, and since your body tends to be insulin resistant when you have PCOS this helps out a lot.
So we shall see how these new changes will affect me. Good, bad, or ugly I'm here to share.

My return from hiatus...
I'm backkkkk! Okay, so lets just start with the obvious. I failed. Failed in the sense that I absolutely did nothing, for the blog, my weight, or my PCOS in the last year. That's right, YEAR! That's just awesome.
Well, wait. I can't say that I did nothing because that would be a lie. I tried probably 5 different times to diet between several different diets and none were successful. I also can't say that I didn't do anything for my PCOS either because I did. I visited the doctor and was given another prescription of Metformin that I am now taking on a regular bases. It helps some, but I'm still not me. So ya, that's about it.
HOWEVER, I am back for real this time. Whether I make progress or not, this shall be my outlet. This is going to be my place for the good, the bad, and the ugly. Of course, be prepared for lots of ugly because this weight loss journey of mine is difficult, complicated, and frustrating.
So here is the short updated. Stay tuned in the next couple days for an outline of PCOS for any of those that don't already know.
TaTa for now.
